Securing canada: CANADA REACHES NATO TArget
Today, Prime Minister Carney announced that Canada’s new government is rebuilding, rearming, and reinvesting in the Canadian Armed Forces.
With a major increase in defence investment, Canada will reach NATO’s 2% target this year—five years ahead of schedule—and accelerate further investments in the years ahead.

Key Measures
The new investments include:
Better pay for Canadian Armed Forces members, and improvements to recruitment and retention.
New equipment, including aircraft, armed vehicles, and ammunition.
Repairs and maintenance for Canada’s existing ships, aircraft, and other assets.
More health-care funding and staff to support CAF personnel and their families.
