from student to lawyer
from immigrant to changemaker
Born in Taiwan and raised here in Canada, Wade grew up in an immigrant family that worked hard to make ends meet. Those early years taught him the value of community support, accessible public services, and opportunities that are open to everyone — lessons that still guide his work today.
Wade earned a law degree from the University of Melbourne and an MBA with distinction from Oxford University, focusing on social impact, systems change, and stakeholder engagement. His career as an international lawyer and social entrepreneur took him around the world, but his focus has always been on solving problems for people and making systems work better.
In Ottawa, Wade serves on the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights and as Vice-Chair of the Parliamentary Pride Caucus. He works on issues that matter most to the people of Burnaby Central:
Affordability — tackling the cost of groceries, rent, and everyday essentials.
Social justice and inclusion — ensuring everyone feels respected and represented.
Housing — addressing high costs so people can find and keep a home.
Environment — protecting green spaces and building a sustainable future with good local jobs.
Celebrating & protecting our diversity — supporting cultural events, language programs, and policies that make sure every community feels respected.
Whether in Ottawa or at home in the riding, he’s always listening, advocating, and working to make life better for the people of Burnaby Central. You’ll often find him at local events, visiting small businesses, or simply chatting with neighbours — staying connected to the community that inspires his work every day.

WHERE IT ALL STARTED…
Wade was born in Taiwan and moved to Canada as a kid. His family came here with hopes, but not much else - like many immigrant families, they had to start over.
New language. New system. New everything.
learning across borders…
Committed to building a better future for my family and community, I worked hard and studied law at the University of Melbourne and then flew halfway across the globe to earn my MBA at the University of Oxford.
At Oxford, I focused on social impact, systemic change, and how to build things that actually last - I was there to figure out how to make a real difference.
Every late-night study session, every big idea, every new place gave me more clarity: this isn’t just about building a career, it is about building something better that works for everyone.
and now i am here…
Everything I have done - every challenge, every step, every choice has led me here. I am more committed give what I learned back here at home to help address real challenges faced by our community here back at home in Burnaby. I do not have all the answers, but I am a listening ear to find a solution that works for you.
thank you for placing your trust in me!
I PROMISE I WILL BE THE HARDEST WORKING MP THIS RIDING HAS EVER SEEN
