Canada’s air sector is a cornerstone of our economy, connecting communities and driving jobs, trade, tourism, and regional growth. Our government is making major investments in airports and infrastructure to deliver a better, more reliable travel experience.
Canadians deserve fast decisions, fair treatment, and a system they can trust. That’s why we are modernizing Air Passenger Protection Regulations by cutting through the complaints backlog with private sector expertise and clear, straightforward rules.
The growing backlog since the pandemic has affected thousands of individuals and is unacceptable. We are taking decisive action to defend passenger rights and clear it swiftly and effectively. To address this, we’re engaging an outside dispute resolution group to help clear the CTA’s volume of nearly 100,000 complaints.
Resolution, transparency, and accountability are what Canadians deserve, and what we will deliver. We are building a stronger air passenger protection system with clear rules that address today’s backlog, while delivering a system Canadians can count on for the future.
